Children with Anaphylactic allergies will not be admitted into the Centre until the parent has completed the Anaphylactic Emergency Plan. This emergency plan completed by the parent and physician outlines the child’s allergies, symptoms, action plan to be followed by the staff and location of the epi-pen.
Children’s anaphylaxis emergency plans are posted in child’s room.
Staff, students, and volunteers are trained when a new anaphylactic child starts at the Centre, when changes occur and annually and must sign and date training charts after training is complete.
Parents must give written permission for child to carry epi-pen as well as provide fanny pack.
